This Suwanee homeowner wanted their kitchen to feel open, current, and functional — and the breakfast bar was the place to start. We removed and discarded the existing countertops and backsplash, relocated the electrical outlets, and lowered the knee-wall to sink-counter height to open up the space. New Level I granite countertops and a matching Level I granite backsplash gave the whole area a clean, updated look.
From there we handled the details that make a kitchen work day to day. We swapped the old microwave setup for a homeowner-provided under-the-cabinet range hood, removing the existing microwave and installing a new exterior wall vent so the range now vents properly to the outside. To keep the microwave in the kitchen, we added a dedicated electrical outlet in the pantry sized for the homeowner's unit.
We finished by adjusting the pantry door so it closes properly — the kind of small fix that's easy to overlook but makes the room feel finished. The result is a brighter, more open kitchen the homeowner can actually use, done right the first time.
